I hope you enjoy this soothing audio track based around a meditation vibe. I felt that meditation and yoga flow extremely well and I’m sure many would agree.
These sounds: Rain, relaxing music, and a hopeful soothing voice are eminent on influencing relaxation. I first found two minutes of ambient music on the free music archive website which was fairly easy. Next I acquired rain sounds that Jen had recorded and uploaded to freesound.org. I next brought each of these sounds into Audition. I recorded my own voice using QuickTime on Mac then moved the recording into Audition. I broke up the recording into three different parts and put them at the beginning, middle, and end.
Audition was fairly easy to use since I have prior experience using Garage Band and it is much like editing videos. This assignment worked well with what I enjoy working on/with. While playing with the effects I figured that an echo on my voice might sound more soothing and give a hint of nature with it. I had trouble turning down the echo but I worked with it and felt that I found a good spot. I added fading throughout the beginning and end and snipped multiple different clips. I also needed to adjust the audio volume because they were all different volumes and the music plus my voice were much louder sounding than the rain.
I took the advice of a classmate and made sure the rain sounds flowed well, putting them closer together so that there was no break in sound. Now it’s not noticeable that the rain sounds were 5 seconds long, copy and pasted next to each other. The next comment I received was to fade out the music track at the end. I hadn’t realized that this was needed at first so it was very helpful. I also carried the rain out after editing the fade in, so that the music slowly ends followed by a couple seconds of quiet rain.
