For this project I decided to attempt a meditation soundtrack. It’s a short clip to guide the listener through relaxation. It felt a bit awkward recording since it’s my own voice, but it was the best idea I could come up with. I came up with the idea to do this audio track when thinking what would flow well with the yoga theme, it spreads peace and relaxation.
All the music and ambient sounds came from free music archive and another creative commons website as well. I recorded the voiceover myself using Quick time. I didn’t have many issues working on this other than looking for audio that was free to use. I first found the tracks that I wanted to use, made sure they were free to use, and downloaded them. I placed them over each other and adjusted the volume a bit to make it flow.
I found Audition fairly easy to use since I have prior audio knowledge using garage band. I intend to play around with the effects more and possibly record more of my voice. I used the split tool to trim off the end of the long music track and duplicated the sounds of rain to be replayed. I also split up my recording into three different pieces and included them in the beginning, middle, and end.
While playing with the effects I decided to add an echo to my voice to make it sound a bit more peaceful and relaxing. I will add some more effects later on to make it even more enticing and hopefully not sound like me as much. Audio editing is extremely like video editing with trimming, splitting, and the adding of effects.
